As with the rest of the nation, Maryland experienced an economic downturn in 2001-2002. Fortunately, the state’s diversified economy and its proximity to Washington, D.C. appear to have helped lessen the effects of that downturn and recent economic numbers suggest a recovery is underway. But the strength of that recovery and its duration are uncertain.

In this forum, the panelists will discuss Maryland’s economy and possible policy approaches to improving its health.
